Execs & Accounts: AKQA, Element 79, Syrup

John Deschner returns to AKQA as client services director in Washington, DC. He previously spent three years with the agency but left a year ago to join Crispin Porter + Bogusky as management supervisor. AKQA's DC clients include USPS, ESPN, Ubisoft, and DoubleClick. The client services director post was previously held by Erik Rogstad, now the office's general manager.

Chicago-based Element 79 developed an integrated campaign for American Family Insurance. "The Family You Choose" is the tagline for the campaign, which includes print, online, radio, out-of-home and TV.

Manhattan-based creative agency Syrup will create work for PUMA Teamsport. The assignment includes PUMA's soccer-related advertising around the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa.

Search Engine Optimization Inc. hired Edward Andrews as chief development officer. Andrews was previously an SVP with World Savings & Loan and Wachovia Bank, working in real estate finance sector.

Linkstorm hired Ari Brandt as CEO. He succeeds founding CEO David Sidman, who will stay on as chairman.
