Crispin Goes Euro, Acquiring 50-Strong Swedish Digital Agency
Crispin, Porter + Bogusky debuted in Europe with the acquisition and renaming of a Gothenburg, Sweden-based digital agency.
Nine-year-old Daddy specializes in digital brand building, business development, and visual identity creation, according to the companies. Its clients have included contact lens firm Ciba Vision, Heinz, Philips, and software maker Autodesk.
Until now, Miami- and Boulder, CO-based CPB hasn't had a formal presence outside the U.S. "The addition of a creative factory in Europe will further contribute to our momentum in these markets," CEO Jeff Hicks said.
With its sale to MDC Partners-owned CPB, the agency has been re-dubbed Crispin Porter + Bogusky Europe. In announcing the deal, the firms also launched a new site and logo (right).
Daddy employs approximately 50 staff, many of whom already have experience with CPB's accounts. Their joint projects include Burger King's Angry-Gram and a digital initiative for Volkswagon that helps VW owners calculate and reduce their carbon footprint.
"We've worked with Daddy a bunch over the past three years and are continually amazed at how smart they are," said CPB's Alex Bogusky in a statement.
CPB has handled global work for a number of accounts, including Burger King, Volkswagen, and Microsoft.
