Last.fm has signed a deal with Yahoo through which it will sell ad inventory in Italy and Spain. The personalized streaming site recently launched an updated visual music player, which it hopes will prove more appealing to advertisers.
Mobile search provider Multiplied Media Corporation has announced the U.K. launch of Poynt The ad-supported local search application for Blackberry Smartphones connects consumers to local businesses based on their geographic location, determined by GPS and cell-triangulation technology. Users are then given options such as click-to-call and click-to-navigate through integration with Blackberry maps and Google maps.
Oxfam has appointed Joseph Sivell to the newly created role of head of digital communications. He will manage a team of 16, working closely with the media campaign team in an attempt to overhaul the way the charity utilizes digital channels.
Video game site and content provider Play.tm has announced a sales agreement with Intergi. The exclusive deal will see the video game and entertainment ad rep firm representing inventory across Play.tm's online gaming properties. Alongside its owned and operated properties, Play.tm also provides content for publishers such as Bauer Media and Playboy.
Seven Squared has appointed Will Currie as creative director of its digital business. The consumer publishing outfit currently counts organizations such as Grant Thornton, Direct Line, and RAC among its digital clients. Currie joins from Bauer Media where he was head of online.
