Isobar China preps for further growth; IPG Mediabrands creates new CEO role; and WPP's RedWorks hires new president.
Isobar China has promoted Jane Lin-Baden, Alvin Huang, and Amanda Lai, which will add a new leadership layer to support growth and further acquisitions in the country.The digital agency expanded its footprint to five cities in China following its acquisition of OMP, a large independent digital agency to triple staff count last year. Isobar China, part of Aegis Media, has close to 700 people now.

Lin-Baden has been promoted to Isobar China CEO. She previously held two titles as Isobar APAC CRM practice leader and COO of wwwins Greater China. In addition to Alvin Huang's current role as MD at Isobar Beijing, he has been appointed as managing partner for Integrated Media for Isobar China. Amanda Lai, former head of strategy at wwwins Isobar Shanghai, is now social practice leader of Isobar China tasked to drive the agency's social offering and strategic development.
Beijing Wonder Advertising, a gaming specialist in digital media planning and buying in China, has been acquired by Aegis Media to align with Carat. Founded in 2003, the digital agency also known as WonderAd has more than 200 staffers with offices in Shanghai and Shenzhen. Its strengths include eCRM and performance marketing and is said to have built a comprehensive database of online media buying data. WonderAd's clients include Tencent Gaming, Netease Gaming, RenRen Gaming, SNDA as well as Estock software, TaKang Life insurance, and ICBC/Credit Suisse. Eric Liu, CEO and founder of WonderAd, will continue to lead the firm following the acquisition.
Carat China has promoted Hristo Cui to a newly created position as head of negotiation. Based in Beijing, he'll focus on business development and digital buying. Cui was previously general manager, digital marketing for the media agency. He reports to Adil Zaim, Carat China CEO. Earlier, Carat hired Cathy Kuang as managing director for North China tasked to lead business operations for the region. She was formerly ZenithOptimedia digital GM for Beijing.

Interpublic Group has appointed Cary Huang, CEO of UM China, in a newly created role as CEO for IPG Mediabrands China.China belongs to IPG Mediabrands' G14, a cluster structure of high growth and high priority markets that include other Asia countries such as Australia, India, and Japan. Huang will oversee business strategy and business development for all Mediabrand's agencies in the country from UM, Initiative to Mediabrands Audience Platform. MAP's digital services include Cadreon, which added 15 clients, while Reprise added eight since the specialized offering launched in the country last year. Huang reports to Jim Hytner, G14 Mediabrands CEO.

Michael Tam has joined RedWorks China, Ogilvy & Mather's production and design unit, as president.He was previously Greater China general manager at Euro RSCG 4D. RedWorks' digital capabilities include online advertising, emails, websites, microsites, mobile apps, digital signage, and social media.
