Top U.S. Parent Companies and Stickiest Brands on the Web, April 2006

Big brands attract visitors on the Web. Some keep visitors on their sites longer than others.

Internet users at home and at work rank 25 of the top parent companies and stickiest brands. Nielsen//NetRatings tracked the brands with the highest number of unique visits and time spent on their sites.

Microsoft reigns supreme as the leading parent company with over 112 million unique visitors in the month of April. Google is in the fourth slot, though comScore data reports it's gained U.S. search market share for the ninth consecutive month.

While time spent on the PokerStars.com property decreased from the previous reporting, it maintained the top share of stickiest brands. Game publisher Electronic Arts gained time-spent, earning it the third slot and displacing FanFiction.net.

Nielsen//NetRatings uses a sampling methodology through its MegaPanel of Internet users.
