Yahoo Local and Maps properties will serve listings from R.H. Donnelley Advertisers.
R. H. Donnelley expanded its relationship with Yahoo to distribute ads on featured listings, enhanced listings, and on Yahoo Maps business listings. The relationship previously included paid listings across a smaller subset of Yahoo.com.
"This is going to give our customers the opportunity to get exposure on such a wide base," said R.H. Donnelley company spokesperson Pete Larmey. "Yahoo now has about 30 million unique users on local sites. In addition to DexKnows.com, it gives R.H. Donnelley customers the ability to get exposure, and drive customers to their businesses."
Ads are primarily text-based, though they'll also include enhanced listings such as photos, coupons, graphics, and listings adjacent to a map with a locator for the business. Advertisers in 14 Western and Midwestern states where R.H. Donnelley distributes an official print directory for Qwest under the Dex brand name are covered under the agreement.
R.H. Donnelley's marketing managers will sell ads on the Yahoo sites, as well as on DexKnows.com. "Marketing managers in the different regions have very good relationships with customers, and we don't want anything to change that," said Larmey.
Deals between local advertising publishers like R.H. Donnelley and local Internet directories and map sites offer value add to advertisers. In April, Harte-Hankes' PennySaver inked a deal to distribute coupons on Google Maps.
