Hearst staffs up at new digital unit; Carat Fusion's Treffiletti departs; Atmosphere BBDO hires managing director of client services.
Hearst hired two execs to oversee its new digital media unit, called Hearst Magazines Digital Media. Chuck Cordray, former SVP of consumer marketing for the TV Guide Publishing Group, will be general manager of the new division. Debra Robinson, former CIO at Primedia, will be its VP of technology.
Additionally, three internal execs will move to the digital group. They include Jay Bobowicz, most recently VP of Hearst Interactive Media; Justin Makler, previously director of technology in the same group; and Chris Wilkes, previously Internet marketing group director.
Cory Treffiletti will soon depart Carat Fusion, where he has been engagement architect since September, to consult for video advertising enabler Klipmart and other clients. He was previously managing director of Carat Interactive's San Francisco office. A replacement has not been named, according to a spokesperson at Carat Fusion.
Atmosphere BBDO hired Tarik Sedky as managing director of client services. Sedky spent two years with mcgarrybowen, prior to which he was director of new media at Accenture.
Acclaim Games tapped Massive Inc. to represent in-game ad inventory for some of its titles. The only game named under the deal is BOTS, a multiplayer action title with about a million registered users.
American Greetings Corporation promoted Paul Conley to VP of digital media in its American Greetings Properties division. Conley was VP of online advertising for AG Interactive, the company's new media subsidiary. He joined the company as business development manager in 1999.
Canadian search company GenieKnows.com hired Tiffany Mitchell as director of business development and promoted its director of affiliate relations, Mark Harper, to VP of strategic relations. Additionally, the company brought in former Gina Kosta, former business development director at LookSmart, as a consultant.
Local online classifieds player LiveDeal.com tapped Winstar to represent its ad inventory. The site records approximately 15 million page views per month.
Network Foundation Technologies, a developer of Internet streaming technologies, named William Macdonald to an advisory role. MacDonald was executive producer of HBO series "Rome."
Accipiter signed a number of new customers. PhotoBucket, FilmLoop, Entriq and Visioneering Games have begun using the company's AdManager ad management platform.
