Execs & Accounts: Jetset, PointRoll, Yahoo

Jetset Studios creates a choose-your-own-adventure video for Warner Brothers DVD release; PointRoll hires a handful of West Coast executives; Yahoo's Menon is expected to leave.

Jetset Studios creates work for “Woodstock” DVD launch. To promote the Warner Brothers’ DVD release of “Woodstock: 3 Days of Peace,” interactive agency Jetset Studios created a choose-your-own-adventure video on YouTube entitled “Suzie Does Woodstock.”

PointRoll adds four West Coast executives. Gannett-owned PointRoll, a rich media technology solution provider, hired Ray McIntosh as sales director, West Coast. He was director of the Western region for Source Interlink. Chris Baughman, AVP creative strategy, who returns to PointRoll after serving as associate creative director with Crew Creative Advertising. Dana Summers, account executive, Pacific Northwest, previously worked at AdBrite. Rhiannon Ubelhor, account executive, auto for the Los Angeles area, worked as an account manager at Condé Nast’s Brides.com.

The leader of Yahoo’s video platform exits, according to reports. Satish Menon, VP of the consumer platforms group at Yahoo, is said to be stepping down according to reports from Newteevee. Menon is responsible for Yahoo’s video platform division, which includes video infrastructure, software, and advertising. His eminent departure follows layoffs of 20 to 25 people from his department.

Microsoft’s Wonderwall launches “Celebrifeed, sponsored by Chips Ahoy. The A-list-driven site will feature celebrity blogs and Twitter feeds. Chips Ahoy will act as the initial sponsor of the site’s section.

Sorenson Media hires Eric Quanstrom; promotes two. Quanstrom was named vice president of marketing and strategy of the video solutions company. He was previously VP of consumer marketing and business development at SightSpeed, which was acquired by Logitech last fall. Sorenson also promoted Kirk Punches to the role of vice president of sales and Mark Ivins to controller.

Media and entertainment-focused investment bank Mesa hires a digital media executive. Daniel Gossels joined Mesa as managing director to provide merger and acquisition advisory and capital raising services in the digital media industry. Gossels previously served as a principal in the media practice and sector head for online entertainment, games, publishing, and social media at Montgomery & Co. Mesa also hired Jonathan Levinson, Michael Josephs, and Michael T.M. Jones as managing directors.

CrownPeak opens New York office; hires former Omniture sales director. Scott Samios was named Eastern regional director of sales and will manage the Web content management and marketing company’s New York office. Samios previously served as regional director, East, at Omniture, and general manager of the New York office of Offermatica prior to the Omniture acquisition.

Buddy Media expands its sales team. The social media campaign and branded ad company hired Andrew Goldberg and Chris Dessi, both as directors of sales for the East. Mark Sarsha was hired as director of sales, West Coast. Goldberg previously served as director of advertising sales at XM Satellite Radio and built the Northeast ad sales team. Dessi has worked in sales and business development at Miva and Zanox. Sarsha served as Western sales director of OK magazine.

DAZMedia opens an LA office. DAZMedia, a New Jersey-based digital agency, expanded by opening an office in Los Angeles. Phillip DeLong was selected head of the new division. DeLong has over a decade of interactive strategy experience at firms including Gartner, a consultancy, and Agency.com. The LA office will concentrate on social media, social networking applications, strategic planning, media buying, and online marketing campaigns.

Hydra hires a compliance director for its performance network. Performance-based ad network Hydra named Rachel Corcoran director of compliance. She will oversee the compliance team and the Hydra AdControl suite of services. Corcoran was previously at Experian, where she was manager of corporate regulatory compliance and contracts for four business units.
