GSI Commerce, a provider of order-fulfillment infrastructure and digital marketing services to e-commerce companies, has acquired ClearSaleing, an advertising analytics and attribution-management firm based in Columbus, OH. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
ClearSaleing will operate under GSI’s Global Marketing Services division, which is led by division CEO Chris Saridakis. Deann Harvey, chief sales officer of the division, will take over as chief revenue officer at ClearSaleing. She will focus on expanding both ClearSaleing’s sales team and its client base. Current ClearSaleing clients include American Greetings, Rosetta, and Nationwide Insurance.
The two companies had already enjoyed a working relationship: an advertising agency within GSI has long used ClearSaleing’s flagship solution, Attribution Management, on behalf of appoximately 50 clients.
GSI provides order-fulfillment operation for clients such as NFL.com, Aéropostale, and GNC, but the public most likely knows it as one of the companies recently featured on CBS’s reality show Undercover Boss. GSI’s founder and CEO, Michael Rubin, appeared on the show in December anonymously packing boxes in one of his own warehouses until he was fired for poor performance.
