For the next five weeks, Dunkin' Donuts is running a "Be The President Of Dunkin' Nation" campaign simultaneously on Facebook Places and Foursquare.
Consumers who check in via either app have the chance to win one of five prizes: a 50-inch LCD TV; a personalized $200 Dunkin' Donuts gift card; a "Dunkin' Nation President" T-Shirt; and a campaign-branded coffee mug.
Meanwhile, Dunkin' Donuts is also testing a nationwide check-in special on Foursquare through the end of August. It's offering users who have synced their accounts with their Amex credit cards $1 back when they spend $5 after checking in.
And, Dunkin' Donuts says it's set to premiere a six-month campaign with Electronic Arts, where the brand will appear within "The Sims Social" video game on Facebook. Players will be able to gift one another virtual cups of coffee and food items. Game players who "like" the coffee retailer on Facebook will get two virtual bonus items - a Dunkin' Donuts beach chair and a custom animation of their "Sim" enjoying a cup of the brand's coffee.
Update: The original version of this story stated Facebook Places was being phased out as a feature. According to the social site, it will remain part of the user experience.
