Pinterest is making its official fashion week debut, teaming up with some of the biggest and brightest names in the industry to create its own virtual fashion hub.

New York Fashion Week (NYFW) is kicking off next Thursday and the streets of New York City are going to be swarming with models, designers, editors, and celebrities as they make their way to countless shows and parties. It’s a spectacle to behold but not all of us can be there to experience the excitement in person.

Luckily for us, Pinterest has launched their very own Fashion Week hub, where pinners will see constantly updated content from over 100+ high-profile partnered influencers, including behind the scenes shots and style tips from Women’s Wear Daily, Refinery29, Elle Magazine, Garance Dore, DANNIJO, NARS Cosmetics, 3.1 Philip Lim, Nordstrom, and more.

Members can peek into the design studio of Oscar de la Renta, experience NYFW through the iPhone lens of Supermodel Coco Rocha, and gain fashion inspiration from luminaries such as Michael Kors, Anna Sui, and Diane von Furstenburg. This is a chance for members of the Pinterest community to not only view the collections and real-time photos from the events, but to see the back story and inspirations of fashion visionaries that normally stay behind the scenes.

According to research from ComScore, Pinterest.com saw nearly 47 million unique visitors in July – up 36 percent from last year. “There are more than 2 million fashion pins pinned to Pinterest every day, so we know that fashion insiders are already using Pinterest as a source of inspiration and we wanted to help share that with the world”, says Katie Garlinghouse, Pinterest’s head of community marketing. “With our Fashion Week hub, millions of people now have access to the stories and inspirations behind Fashion Week, making it easier for them to interpret these trends in their real lives.”

In addition to the fashion hub initiative on their website, the social image sharing platform has also partnered with the Style Network to bring Pinterest fashion and style trends directly to your TV screen, with a special titled, “The ‘IT’ List: Top 10 Fall Trends”. This will be aired on September 12, at 9pm EST/PT.

This is the first time Pinterest has participated in fashion week in an official capacity and the initiative will not only run throughout NYFW but also through London, Milan, and Paris as well.
