The social network has unveiled the most popular destinations for users globally including top topics for Hong Kong, Singapore, Australia, and India.
As 2013 comes to an end, Facebook has revealed the top check-ins around the world, as well as the most talked about topics on the social network across various countries.
Below is a snapshot with a focus on Asia Pacific.
Disneyland Tokyo and Hong Kong were among the most popular destinations that Facebook users checked-in to globally. Singapore's Marina Bay Sands, Tainan flower night market in Taiwan, Myungdong Street in South Korea, Melbourne cricket ground in Australia as well as The Golden Temple in India were other top places for Facebook users worldwide.
Globally, Pope Francis, head of the Roman Catholic Church, has been the No. 1 discussed topic for 2013, followed by the election and royal baby. The death of icon Nelson Mandela resulted in more than 115 million interactions on Facebook by 55 million users around the world.
In Hong Kong, typhoon took centerstage with Usagi, which was reported to be one of the strongest in 34 years to hit the city and typhoon Haiyan. which caused massive destruction in the Philippines. Local drama series Triumph in the Skies -- alongside local politicians, civil servants, and artists -- were among other popular topics for Hong Kong Facebookers.
In Singapore, F1, election, and National Day were the top three topics most discussed by Facebook users in 2013.
For Australia, princess Kate, cricket, and politicians were among the most popular topics for the country this year.
In India, Apple's latest iPhone 5s made it to the list.
