Twitter has released a number of updated features on TweetDeck, and has unified its scheduling system for the first time.
Most brands use a service such as TweetDeck to keep their Twitter streams fresh with scheduled posts throughout the day. Now, users of the Twitter-owned TweetDeck will find the application even more convenient, as Twitter has added the ability to schedule tweets with images, among other tricks.
To push out a photo post, users simply need to select Schedule Tweet, pick an image, and choose a time in the future to send it out. This functionality can be accessed on the Web, Windows and Chrome versions of TweetDeck, and soon on the Mac app.
"Allowing users to schedule tweets with an image puts TweetDeck on par with other tools that offer similar functionality," says Luke Carrell, account director at global social media agency We Are Social NY.
Aside from images, new features include the ability to add a Scheduled Tweets column, where you can edit and track your tweets. Once you make a change, it can be seen by everyone with access to the same Twitter account.
Additionally, it's the first time that the microblogging service has unified its scheduling system, says Twitter, as the scheduled tweets on TweetDeck will be visible on ads.twitter.com and vice-versa.
"This latest change reflects Twitter's ambition to make its paid products more accessible and user-friendly for advertisers at every level," Carrell tells ClickZ, commenting on the updates.
He adds that by integrating a popular channel management tool like TweetDeck into its paid products like Twitter Ads, the social media platform helps simplify advertisers' workflow and make the entire process clearer.
