By acquiring co-browsing software maker LiveLOOK, Oracle will enable agencies to better engage with clients and solve problems more efficiently.
Oracle has acquired LiveLOOK, a maker of real-time visual collaboration technology. The deal will see co-browsing and screen-sharing added to the tech firm's software arsenal.
LiveLOOK's product gives sales representatives the ability to browse alongside their customers, so that they can more efficiently help consumers fix problems and make the right purchase decisions.
For ad agencies, the co-browsing and screen-sharing technology will allow them to assess live campaigns together with their clients and exchange information in real time, with both parties accessing the same screen simultaneously.
Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. But one thing is for sure - this acquisition will give Oracle a competitive advantage over competitors such as Salesforce.com and SAP. LiveLOOK's technology will empower Oracle users to meet consumer demands across Web and mobile channels, and consumer satisfaction will lead to higher revenue, according to David Vap, group vice president of Oracle product development.
LiveLOOK's product has been embedded in the Oracle Service Cloud offering; it is already being used by more than 100 Oracle clients.
The software giant has acquired approximately 100 companies in the past decade. In addition to the recent LiveLOOK deal, today Oracle added software for hotels and restaurants by purchasing Micros Systems for $5.3 billion in cash.
