Bud Light Offering Delivery Service Just in Time for the Super Bowl

Beer company Anheuser-Busch is introducing a home delivery service for its popular Bud Light brand. The "Bud Light Button" is a new app that allows users to order drinks on their smartphones.

Anheuser-Busch has made enjoying a Bud Light during the Super Bowl easier than ever by creating a new app that allows Android users to order beer delivery on smartphones.

The “Bud Light Button” is actually an app being tested with Android users in Washington, D.C., and coming soon to iOS. Customers can use the app to order between one and 100 cases of Budweiser or Bud Light and expect delivery in an hour or less.

The Bud Light Button relieves a major pain point for consumer: missing key moments of the big game to make a beer run.

“Bud Light is all about enabling spontaneous, social fun for our consumers,” says Stephen Clements, executive creative director of AKQA, the agency behind the campaign. “We did extensive research into our consumers’ consumption habits with the focus on helping them solve their pain points. The beer run has been a chore for decades. Now getting beer is simple and seamless.”

The app is powered by Klink Technologies, a Florida-based alcohol delivery company, and is being piloted in Washington, D.C. for 90 days, with a major focus on data from sporting events like the Super Bowl and March Madness. However, the company does have plans to eventually move to other cities.

The Bud Light Button is just a part of the Anheuser-Busch’s broader “Up for Whatever” campaign that leads up to the Super Bowl. The campaign also includes an Instagram sweepstakes where users Instagram videos of themselves completing challenges listed on Bud Light bottles for a chance to go to the Super Bowl.
