Digital Marketing People on the Move: February 2015 Roundup

This is a roundup of new hires and promotions in the digital marketing industry during February of 2015.

February was a bumpy month for the digital marketing industry, as there were many senior position changes in major brands, agencies, and tech companies.

Kraft Foods’ CMO Deanie Elsner Leaves in Management Shake-Up

Deanie Elsner, chief marketing officer (CMO) at Kraft Foods (Kraft), has left the company as a result of a management overhaul. Jane Sinclair Hilk, executive vice president at Kraft, will serve as interim CMO.

Leaving along with Elsner are Teri List-Stoll, chief financial officer, and Chuck Davis, executive vice president of research, development, quality, and innovation.

Kraft’s management overhaul also includes two promotions. George Zoghbi, former vice chairman of operations, research and development, sales, and strategy, has been appointed to chief operating officer (COO). And Chris Kempczinski, executive vice president and president of Kraft Canada, has been named executive vice president of growth initiatives and president of international.

alan-eustaceGoogle’s Senior Vice President of Knowledge Departs

Alan Eustace, a longtime Google employee and senior vice president (SVP) of knowledge, has decided to leave the company. As of now, it’s unclear if Eustace will retire or will head for another company. The news was delivered through an internal memo, and a new SVP of knowledge has yet to be appointed.

In 2002, Eustace migrated from HP to Google, where he started out as SVP of engineering. He became SVP of knowledge in 2011.

chrishirstChris Hirst to Be Group Chief Executive of Europe at Havas

Chris Hirst is going to join Havas Creative Group as chief executive (CEO) of Europe. In his new role, Hirst will be in charge of all the Havas creative agencies in the U.K. and other European countries. He will report to Andrew Benett, global CEO of Havas Worldwide and Havas Creative Group.

Previously, Hirst had been CEO of agency Grey London since 2010, and was managing director before that.

 

lizziewidhelmMajor Hires and Promotions at Pandora

Lizzie Widhelm, former vice president of digital at Pandora, has been promoted to SVP of ad product sales and strategy. Widhelm’s current team will be built out to encompass three major functions at Pandora: ad product go to market, ad product marketing, and ad product sales. She will report to John Trimble, chief revenue officer.

Along with this promotion, Doug Sterne, former vice president (VP) of audio sales, has been appointed to VP of audio development and industry relations. Sterne will report to SVP of agency relations Alan Schanzer.

In addition to these two promotions, Pandora has hired David Reiley as principal scientist. Previously, Reiley spent more than seven years at Google and Yahoo Research. He will report to Eric Bieschke, chief scientist and VP of playlist. Outside of work, Reiley teaches data science classes for the master’s program at the UC Berkeley School of Information.

Under the leadership of CEO Chris Brown, DDB New York has named Hannah Fishman group creative director/content director, Yael Cesarkas as planning director, and Joel Nagy as director of digital innovation.

Before she joined DDB New York, Fishman spent seven years at Edelman as VP and creative director, spearheading digital creative on brands including Samsung, Dove, AXE, the American Heart Association, and Pfizer. Prior to that, Fishman was senior design and creative lead at digital media company Everyday Health. She also served as interactive group designer at Borders Group and design consultant for ePrize.

In her new role of planning director, Cesarkas will work closely with ExxonMobil team at DDB New York to enhance strategic capabilities across North America. Before that, she served as an associate planning director at R/GA where she worked on a number of brands, including L’Oreal, Tiffany, MasterCard, and Ameriprise.

As director of digital innovation, Nagy will be responsible for the development of digital solutions for the agency. Previously, he worked as technical director at Iris Worldwide and oversaw its digital development team in New York.

nick-mooreNick Moore Joins Publicis Groupe’s ROAR

Publicis Groupe’s ROAR has appointed Nick Moore as executive creative director.

Before he joined ROAR, Moore served as chief creative officer at Wunderman New York, where he spearheaded a multi-discipline team to create digital, social, and offline brand experiences, as well as behavior-driven campaigns for brands, including Citibank, Coca-Cola, Dell, Hewlett-Packard, Levi’s, Nokia, Range Rover, and Reebok. Prior to that, he worked as creative director at TBWA GGT for six years and Proximity London for five years.

debbie-aryandariDebbie Aryandari Migrates From iProspect Indonesia to Digitals LBi

DigitasLBi has named Debbie Aryandari head of media, Southeast Asia. In her new role, Aryandari will be responsible for implementing a centralized media practice and promoting overall growth for the agency’s media business in the Southeast Asian region.

Aryandari has years of experience in multimedia design, website development, and animation. Most recently, she had been serving as CEO of the iProspect brand in Indonesia since 2012. There she won a number of accounts, including Philips, General Motors, AIG, Microsoft, and Reckitt Benckiser. Prior to iProspect, she worked as digital specialist at Carat.
