X-ceed Acquires Mercury Seven

X-ceed Inc. said it acquired Mercury Seven Inc. , parent of marketingsite ChannelSeven.com.

X-ceed Inc. said it acquired Mercury Seven Inc., parent of marketing site ChannelSeven.com.

Based in New York, Mercury Seven is a consultancy and development company that specializes in building Internet-based businesses. Mercury Seven is also known for creating and publishing ChannelSeven.com, an online network for Internet industry professionals worldwide. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Mercury Seven’s client list includes Madison Square Garden, Arthur Andersen, Men’s Health Magazine, Spree.com, Hearst Entertainment, Radio City Music Hall, SRDS and Scholastic, among others.

“We’re delighted to add the talents of Mercury Seven to X-ceed,” said Werner Haase, CEO and co-chairman of X-ceed. “They share our desire to expand the capabilities of interactive communication and commerce. They understand the new economy of the Internet and have been very successful in developing Internet businesses and Internet strategic marketing programs for clients. Mercury Seven’s online business expertise will complement X-ceed’s content development capabilities. . . ”

In addition to the online network, ChannelSeven.com serves its core audience with printed publications, special industry events, a speaker’s bureau and subscription-based email newsletters.

“Businesses worldwide continue to embrace the Internet and interactive communications solutions as an integral part of their business models, especially as they relate to marketing, sales and internal communications issues,” said Scott Mednick, chairman and chief strategic officer of X-ceed. “X-ceed is strategically poised to bring the complete spectrum of communication to interactivity. We are building this company to be the leading expert in internal, external and Internet communication solutions.”

Bob Risse, CEO of Mercury Seven, will retain his title and responsibilities at Mercury Seven and will also join the board of X-ceed, along with Mercury Seven President Kevin Labick.

X-ceed acquired Reset, a company specializing in content- driven innovative interactive communications solutions, on Aug. 5. Reset has a strong niche in the entertainment business, with offices in New York, Los Angeles and London.
