Jewelry brand Tiffany & Co. is hoping to increase the number of little blue boxes given this holiday season with its A Very Merry Countdown Facebook app, which highlights gift ideas from its Tiffany Holiday Gift Guide in an advent-calendar-like format.
According to a Facebook post upon its launch on November 11, A Very Merry Countdown features “28 perfect gift ideas,” such as the Paloma Picasso olive leaf pendant in sterling silver, Penguin charm in sterling silver and Tiffany Victoria earrings in platinum with marquise diamonds in cartoon winter scenes.
Tiffany has five million Facebook likes and has 768,000 followers. Some of its Twitter posts about the initiative use the hashtag #TiffanyCountdown. The brand is also posting images tagged with #TiffanyCountdown on Instagram, where it has 943,000 followers.
In other holiday-themed social efforts, the brand has also tweeted about #TiffanyChristmas in relation to a Christmas Shop at its flagship store and has also created a Tiffany Holiday board on Pinterest.
A Tiffany rep declined comment.
On October 21, the brand announced the redesign of its website, which includes high-resolution visuals, as well as the ability to search by category, designer, price, materials and gemstones with enhanced zoom capability and views of jewelry on models and in videos, and the ability to download Tiffany’s Engagement Ring Finder app for iPhone, iPad and Android, where consumers can select and share rings.
