Apple is currently the world’s most valuable brand (value up 67% from last year), therefore any updates from the tech-leader will make waves across the world.
Its 26th annual Worldwide Developers Conference, WWDC, in San Francisco will begin today (8 June) – live stream available – at 6pm (GMT).
At WWDC, Apple’s developer community will come together to learn about the future of iOS and OS X, helping them continue to create the most innovative apps in the world.

iOS 9.0 preview
Flashier than a disco ball, a brief snapshot of the updated iOS 9.0 is expected to include improvements to split-screen viewing apps on the iPad.
Apple Radio and music streaming
In a bid to counter Spotify’s streaming dominance, Apple could be ready to launch a premium streaming music service in conjunction with Beats Music, in the face of declining iTunes revenue.
A £10 a month subscription model is expected.
Apple TV
There is much speculation that Apple will be launching (or at the least hinting at) live streaming TV. There’s also gossip doing the rounds that Apple is about to introduce new hardware with Siri integration, and an app store that would sell games designed for bigger screens.
Apple Watch
Dan Ives, an analyst at FBR Capital Markets, says that he anticipates that “Apple Watch apps will be a focal point, with a backlog of orders adding to increased interest on the developer front”, as they address supply issues and focus on developing apps for the new product.
Mac OS X, cloud and software updates
Apple will be paying close attention to its cloud products, with its main competitor, Google, already flying high with cloud capabilities.
Apple Pay
Apple is expected to announce an integration with rewards programs and coupons in a combined checkout experience and a UK release date for Apple Pay – which has so far only been available to US users.
“The App Store ignited an app ecosystem that is simply amazing, forever changing the lives of customers and creating millions of jobs worldwide,” said Philip Schiller, Apple’s senior vice president of Worldwide Marketing.
“We’ve got incredible new technologies for iOS and OS X to share with developers at WWDC and around the world, and can’t wait to see the next generation of apps they create,” he added.
