A Rockin' Little Promotion for N2K

N2K's Rocktropolis , Maxell Corp. of America, and MarkeTVision are planning a global music experience--"Peakin' At TheBeacon"--March 13 & 14 with the Allman Brothers Band cybercast live on theWeb site.

N2K’s Rocktropolis, Maxell Corp. of America, and MarkeTVision are planning a global music experience–“Peakin’ At The Beacon”–March 13 & 14 with the Allman Brothers Band cybercast live on the Web site.

Sponsored by Maxell (spending was not disclosed), the event begins on March 13 with a band chat on AOL continuing with the band’s live show cybercast on Rocktropolis.

During intermission on March 13, fans will have the opportunity to chat with Dick Latvala, Grateful Dead archivist (Dick of “Dick’s Picks”) about his connection with the band and his original perspective on live music. The Peakin’ agenda continues on March 14, with another live Rocktropolis cybercast of the Allman Brothers Band from the Beacon Theater in New York.

“With our 15 shows sold out at the Beacon Theater in NYC, this cybercast on Rocktropolis gives us the opportunity to invite more people, to the show,” said original band member and drummer Butch Trucks.

It is a natural for Maxell to be involved, the company said, as the Allman Brothers Band (along with the Grateful Dead and Phish) heavily support fans taping their live shows.

FILLMORE EAST FEB 70 is the featured CD associated with the event and will only be available to the online community. Fans can purchase the item at any time during the event on Rocktropolis.

Boston-based MarkeTVision works with Maxell to ensure that fans of bands like the Allman Brothers Band and potential new audiences receive cutting-edge entertainment, using MarkeTVision’s unique television programming, the Internet, and Maxell tapes and mini discs.
