Acacia Research Corp. said that its subsidiary, Soundbreak.com, has chosen McElroy:Foote, Cone & Belding as its advertising agency, Rogers & Cowan as its public relations agency and YouthStream Media Networks for marketing to college students.
“Soundbreak’s goal is to become the leading ‘live’ Internet site for youth-oriented music,” said Paul Ryan, CEO of Acacia Research. “We are excited to be working with groups that are acknowledged leaders in their respective fields as we prepare for our launch.”
McElroy:FCB is a youth-oriented advertising agency that recently merged with Foote, Cone & Belding. It has conducted youth marketing campaigns for clients such as Vans Shoes, Pacific Sunwear, G-Shock Watches, Mountain High Resort, and Titus Software.
Rogers & Cowan specializes in marketing and communications for films, television, musical artists, celebrities, concert tours, and award shows.
YouthStream Media Networks operates a network of media properties including a college campus postering and promotions company and a satellite-linked network of on-campus movie theaters. YouthStream’s on-campus marketing organization includes relationships with 2,000 universities and 7,000 high schools.
Soundbreak.com will provide an interactive “lifestyle” site centered around music, combining a 24-hour webcast highlighting new music hosted by on-air DJs. The site will include a music and merchandise store and on-demand music videos.
Rare Medium Asia Pacific, a division of Rare Medium Group Inc. Launch is scheduled for late September.
