Active Home Web Use by Country, February 2006

While some countries continue to increase their active Internet population, others experience user drops.

The active Internet user population continues to grow in several countries. Yet on whole, the number of users decreased by 426,435. Data tracked by Nielsen//NetRatings reports the number of active users in 10 countries.

In January, the Internet population fell 46,703 from the previous month. From January to February, loss in the number of active users occurred mostly in Australia, Italy, Japan, the United Kingdom and the United States.

Nielsen//NetRatings uses a sampling methodology applied worldwide which allows for aggregation of data on a regional and global basis.
