AT&T has launched an interactive campaign that lets people send good wishes to U.S. athletes while they’re competing for Olympic gold in Torino next month.
The interactive effort, called “Your support. Delivered.”, includes Web and mobile components and is part of the company’s sponsorship of the U.S. Olympic and Paralympic Teams for the upcoming winter games in Italy.
It’s also part of AT&T’s overarching “Your world. Delivered.” brand campaign, which highlights AT&T’s role as a communications-enabler.
Team USA fans are encouraged to visit a site at ATT.com/TeamUSA to write a message to an individual athlete or the entire U.S. team. Cingular mobile subscribers can also get their messages to athletes by sending a text message to “2USA.” AT&T will route the messages to digital inboxes accessible to athletes during the games.
While at the site, people can also view video greetings recorded for the Olympian athletes by other fans or download a U.S. Olympic Team screensaver. Additionally, a clock at the bottom of the page ticks off the days, hours, minutes and seconds that remain before the start of the winter games.
Separately, AT&T shared some details of a new cross-media ad campaign that kicked off today, which also uses an Olympic theme. It includes TV, outdoor and Internet placements, which consist of Flash executions on major portals starting in February.
“We see this campaign as one more way to bring Americans closer to the excitement and passion that surround the Olympic Winter Games,” said Karen Jennings, AT&T’s senior EVP of communications, in a statement.
