Bertelsmann Launches International Campaign With DoubleClick
Bertelsmann Online (BOL), the internationale-commerce business of Bertelsmann AG, the third largest media company in theworld, signed an advertising deal with DoubleClick Inc.

Bertelsmann Online (BOL), the international e-commerce business of Bertelsmann AG, the third largest media company in the world, signed an advertising deal with DoubleClick Inc.
Also, Warminster, PA-based TV/Web auction company Bidnow.com signed to become a part of the DoubleClick Network. BOL is implementing a major advertising campaign across all of its operating markets, including Germany, UK, France, the Netherlands and coming soon, Spain. Spending was not disclosed.
The agreement with DoubleClick will help promote the 4.5 million book titles BOL offers throughout Europe
“BOL is leading the way for e-commerce in Europe and DoubleClick’s solutions will help build on this momentum,” said Barry Salzman, president, of DoubleClick International.
“Advertising on the DoubleClick Network allows us to efficiently reach our target audience through many channels,” said Heinz B. Wermelinger, president and CEO of BOL International.
Bidnow.com also will use DoubleClick’s Dynamic Advertising Reporting and Targeting (DART) technology as its ad serving technology. Bidnow.com offers an Internet and television based e-commerce platform, which combines the live auctions, entertainment and home shopping.
