Andover, MA-based ClickZ Network, a resource for online marketers, launched the ClickZ Challenge Web advertising competition designed to help The Doug Flutie, Jr. Foundation for Autism.
The competition features four Internet advertising agencies–BBDO, K2 Design, Lot21 and Beyond Interactive–to determine which agency can produce the best results for a non-profit ad campaign.
The goal of the campaign is to generate online contributions and names for the Flutie Foundation’s mailing list. AdKnowledge, a Web ad management company, has been named the official ad management system for the competition. In addition to being the exclusive ad server, AdKnowledge will also provide all reporting for the event–including post-click results.
“The ClickZ Challenge is not your typical awards banquet where a bunch of cronies pat each other on the back,” said ClickZ Publisher, Andy Bourland. “We are recognizing superior performance measured directly in results for a worthy cause. There are only two ways to win the ClickZ Challenge: By delivering names and contributions for The Doug Flutie, Jr. Foundation for Autism and by delivering an exemplary campaign.”
“The ClickZ Challenge promises to be great for our organization’s fund-raising efforts,” said Doug Flutie, quarterback of the Buffalo Bills, and the non-profit’s founder. “We’re encouraged by the potential to reach millions of potential donors and benefactors through creative Internet advertising.”
The agency that produces the best results will win the grand prize, which will be announced at an awards dinner at the Web Advertising Conference on April 27 in New York City. Awards for Best Creative and Best Media Plan will be awarded on the basis of a vote of the audience. Two additional awards will be based upon results as measured by AdKnowledge: Most Contributions ($) and Most Names (additions to the foundation’s mailing list). Competition sponsors also include The Tenagra Corp. and Thunder Lizard Productions.
