The ClickZ Martech Awards 2019 will take place in Tribeca, New York on March 21.
The awards will be hosted by Scott Brinker (of chiefmartec.com, also the one who creates those dizzying martech landscapes — up to 7000 this past year), and presented by us here at ClickZ.
The awards will be voted partially by the industry (you) and partially by a panel of eight experts judges. Awards will span across best technologies, best use of technologies, and top people and teams in the industry.
Short answer: This is a pivotal moment for martech and we’re thrilled to be celebrating innovation at the forefront of the industry.
Long answer: Marketing technology — versus just the marketing industry or even digital marketing — is becoming ever more vital as businesses and business leaders try to navigate the complex, shifting digital world of today.
It used to be that strategy, skill, and creativity were the bulk of marketing success. Now, technology is at the core. Companies not investing in the right technologies — or investing in the wrong ones — struggle to keep up with rising customer expectations.
Gartner estimated that in 2018, marketers spent 29% of their marketing budget (up from 22% in 2017) on martech. Staff, on the other hand, accounted for 24% (down from 27% in 2017) of budget.
Marketing departments now spend more on technology than on people.
Needless to say, choosing the right technology is a massive decision.
Thus, we’ve created these awards in order to shine some daylight on the murky waters of martech — to celebrate these technologies, the use of them in the “real world,” and the people that make it all happen.
Finalists will be announced and invited to an awards ceremony in New York on March 21.
The awards are free to enter.
There are three over-arching categories of the awards: technologies, use of technologies, and people.
Within those three, there are dozens of subcategories, ranging from “Best Call Analytics Platform” and “Best Conversational Bot Tool” to “Best Data Enablement Campaign” and “Marketing Technology Team of the Year.”

The “Technology” categories (most of the awards fall here) will be 50% scored/voted for by our readers and their customers and 50% scored/voted for by our expert judges.
The “Use of Technologies” and “People” categories will be 100% voted for by our judges.
