Recent hires include Shabnum Mehra, group media director, focused on social; Allen Stern, group media director, who joins from Signal to Noise (formerly Agency.com); and Michael Mathog, director of analytics. AKQA’s media unit has grown in revenue by more than 50 percent year-over-year; clients include Audi, Clorox, and Turner Broadcasting.
Organic creates chilling work for Meth Project. Anchored at MethProject.org, the cross-media campaign includes horrific TV spots by filmmaker Darren Aronofsky that portray worst case scenarios of meth addiction. Teens are also invited to create and share their own stories, video, and other media.
Twitter marketing VP Pam Kramer heads for the exit. Kramer’s departure comes just three months after she took the job, Bloomberg reports. She was previously CMO at Etrade Financial Corp.
Experiential agency MKG hires Etsy’s Dave Brown to digital role. Brown joins as director of digital strategy, a new position. He’ll oversee work with clients including Evian, Delta Air Lines, and Wired. At Etsy his title was social media specialist.
McCann wins global agency of record for Ikea.com. The assignment includes a “rethink” and global redesign of the website and user experience. McCann will work with Ikea’s in-house digital team in Helsingborg and Älmhult, Sweden. The win, which follows a competitive review, was not out of the blue. Earlier this year, McCann was picked to revamp Ikea’s global catalog.
Eleven names Mike McKay partner and chief creative officer. He joins from BBDO, San Francisco, where he was executive creative director. Before that he led creative at Saatchi & Saatchi Los Angeles.
