The alliances enhance Compare.Net’s services by allowing consumers to research and compare thousands of products and to seek opinions from other consumers via online discussions and shop within a network of classifieds ads, the company said. Financial details were not disclosed.
Compare.Net said its visitors now can research products ranging from automobiles to washing machines using customizable brand-comparison charts. To help in their purchasing decisions, users can then search, browse, and participate in thousands of Internet discussion groups hosted by Deja News to obtain product opinions and recommendations. And, finally, shoppers can search the Classifieds2000 service for classified ads posted by consumers.
“We are magnifying our value to the consumer by adding a community-based element to Compare.Net’s already valuable comparison services,” said Trevor Traina, president of Compare.Net.
Both Classifieds2000 and Deja News will embed links within individual Compare.Net product pages for their respective services allowing shoppers to access all of these services without leaving the Compare.Net site.
