Crispin Porter + Bogusky has acquired fellow Boulder, Colo. agency texturemedia, a digital marketing and consulting firm with 50 employees.
With the addition of those staffers, Crispin’s interactive staff expands to 130 in all its offices, including Miami, London, and Los Angeles. That’s up from three employees in 2003.
Texturemedia offers digital consulting, digital marketing, and site development services. Its clients have included National Geographic, Intuit, Pentax, and Google.
Crispin now produces approximately 60 percent of its digital work in-house, according to Winston Binch, VP and group executive producer.
“In 2005, we decided to build out our own in-house team to handle production, metrics implementation and analysis, SEO, CRM strategy, and technical development responsibilities,” Binch said in a statement e-mailed to ClickZ. He added, “The specific end goals were to better enable campaign integration across platforms, give us large-scale development capabilities, drive innovation through close creative and technical collaboration at the concept and development level, improve overall interactive execution quality, and shorten our development time frames.”
Crispin’s best known digital work has been for clients Burger King, Volkswagen, and MINI USA. More recently it won a global marketing assignment from Microsoft and created a well-received Pizza Builder online ordering interface for Domino’s.
