Cuba’s Online Population

The Cuban government says there are 40,000 people online in Cuba, and there is one computer for every 100 people in the nation. The International Telecommunications Union says there are 60,000 Internet users in Cuba.

There are 18,000 Cuban-based pages on the Web, and they get 15 million page views each week. There are four ISPs in Cuba that provide access to the Internet, and access in Cuba is limited to citizens who can prove they are engaged in research or belong to an accredited institution.
