    Deja News E-Mail Service Employs Spam Filter

    Internet discussion group Web site Deja News rolled out a new spam filtering e-mail service.

    Internet discussion group Web site Deja News rolled out a new spam filtering email service.

    The free service is a component of My Deja News, a personalized service in which users can customize discussion groups and other content.

    Advertising Age said spam is an issue for Deja News because direct marketers who send out unsolicited emails have been known to harvest names from online discussion groups, with software programs that comb the Web looking for email addresses.
