InteliHealth, a joint venture between Aetna U.S. Healthcare and Johns Hopkins University and Health System, signed with DoubleClick for the sale of banner advertising and selected content area sponsorships on InteliHealth’s two Web sites.

InteliHealth, a media company based in Blue Bell, PA, provides information covering health and well-being from well-regarded sources in the health industry such as Johns Hopkins, the National Institutes of Health, MedLine and Reuters Health Information.

InteliHealth said its audience contains a large number of high income, highly educated women which will be a key strength in targeting consumer product advertisers.

InteliHealth projects include a Web site for consumers, a Web site for health industry professionals, a presence on AOL (keyword: InteliHealth), CBS.com (Life Section), CompuServe (Go:InteliHealth) and PointCast (Health Channel), as well as quarterly magazine supplements, radio health minutes and television commentaries. It also offers consumers a broad range of health care products from the Healthy Home catalog.

Separately, InteliHealth launched its newly re-designed consumer Web site. The new InteliHealth site offers new, condition-specific health zones, discussion groups and easier access to a wide array of health information.

The site consists of more than 2 million pages of breaking health news, medical literature, journals and research. In addition to improved navigation through its many pages, the re-designed site features new health areas, such as the Allergy Zone, Cancer Zone and Pregnancy Zone.

New discussion groups have also been added, enabling visitors to post and read messages about health issues of common interest. Visitors to the site also can access the new Johns Hopkins Health Insider Webletter (available in either a Web-based version or a free print copy) which features breaking news and developments from faculty and researchers.

A newly redesigned online store has also been introduced, featuring items from the Healthy Home catalog, offering health care products.
