Curiocity said it will create and host exclusive promotional material on its FreeZone online community for kids Web site for DreamWorks’ next two family movies: “Paulie” and “Small Soldiers.”

The sites (freezone.com/Paulie) and (freezone.com/small-soldiers) will premiere in mid-March. FreeZone Web claims nearly 3 million page views a month. Financial terms of the arrangement were not disclosed.

Curiocity’s FreeZone claims to be the first independent Internet site to promote a Hollywood film. While visits to movie Web sites have been in general decline, Curiocity’s FreeZone doubled its online traffic every week through “Mouse Hunt’s” opening week, the company said.

DreamWorks also will advertise in Curiocity’s “BrainStorm,” a weekly newspaper page, and Curiocity for Kids, a monthly magazine for kids, to take full advantage of multiplatform promotional opportunities offered by the line of Curiocity products.

“Curiocity’s FreeZone delivered thousands of kids every day who participated in ‘Mouse Hunt’ activities,” said Michael Vollman, head of field promotions at DreamWorks. “We’re looking forward to similar results for ‘Paulie’ and ‘Small Soldiers.'”

Thomson Target Media–creator of Curiocity–serves the newspaper industry by developing niche publications and custom products for target audiences and interest areas such as children, entertainment, health, fitness, family living. and auto racing.

Its parent company, Thomson Newspapers, publishes 68 daily newspapers and numerous non-daily and specialty publications in the United States and Canada.

DreamWorks SKG is the entertainment studio formed in October 1994 by Steven Spielberg, Jeffrey Katzenberg, and David Geffen.
