The sites (freezone.com/Paulie) and (freezone.com/small-soldiers) will premiere in mid-March. FreeZone Web claims nearly 3 million page views a month. Financial terms of the arrangement were not disclosed.
Curiocity’s FreeZone claims to be the first independent Internet site to promote a Hollywood film. While visits to movie Web sites have been in general decline, Curiocity’s FreeZone doubled its online traffic every week through “Mouse Hunt’s” opening week, the company said.
DreamWorks also will advertise in Curiocity’s “BrainStorm,” a weekly newspaper page, and Curiocity for Kids, a monthly magazine for kids, to take full advantage of multiplatform promotional opportunities offered by the line of Curiocity products.
“Curiocity’s FreeZone delivered thousands of kids every day who participated in ‘Mouse Hunt’ activities,” said Michael Vollman, head of field promotions at DreamWorks. “We’re looking forward to similar results for ‘Paulie’ and ‘Small Soldiers.'”
