Redmond, WA-based drugstore.com inc., a new online retailer of health, beauty and wellness products, signed a sponsorship agreement with Excite Inc. that promotes drugstore.com on select Excite portions of Netscape’s Netcenter.
drugstore.com markets 15,000 brand-name personal healthcare products, including an assortment of pharmaceutical and personal healthcare products, including vitamins and cosmetics. Financial arrangements of the deal were not disclosed.
drugstore.com will have links, text links, text module boxes and banner advertisements on the Excite portions of Netscape’s Netcenter network, including shopping and health-related pages. And, drugstore.com said it plans to run other promotional campaigns on the Excite portions of Netscape’s Netcenter site.
The Excite portions of the Netscape Netcenter site join a growing number of top Internet sites offering drugstore.com. Other well-known companies include Amazon.com, America Online, Inc., Excite, Yahoo, OnHealth, ThirdAge, Medscape, Intelihealth and Women.com.
“Excite’s relationship with Netscape allows us to reach Netscape’s strong member-based community and provides drugstore.com with another excellent distribution channel,” said Peter Neupert, president and CEO of drugstore.com.
