A study by Pro-Active estimated that 2.8 million people now have Internet access in the Netherlands. In the two-week period of the survey, 80 percent of Dutch users went online to use email, 70 percent went online in search of specific information, 61 percent to surf without a goal, and 55 percent to download files.
The typical Dutch Internet user is online three days per week, spending an average of 56 minutes online. Pro-Active estimates that almost 1 million hours is spent on the Internet per day in the Netherlands.
The Computer Industry Almanac says the number of Dutch people online is closer to 1.96 million.
