Media network Salon.com signed an exclusive year-long advertising sponsorship agreement with global information technology services leader EDS.

Under the agreement, EDS has become the exclusive sponsor of “View From the Top,” a new weekly Salon.com series that will feature interviews with CEOs, CIOs and CTOs at the technology vanguard.

As part of the sponsorship package, EDS will also receive: branding on the “email a friend about this article” service within the “View From the Top” feature; banner impressions throughout the site; and text ads within the Salon Technology newsletter.

Spending was not disclosed.

The series, to appear every Monday on the Salon Technology site, launched on Sept. 13, featuring Excite@Home CEO Tom Jermoluk.

Weeks 2 and 3 profiled Maynard Webb, eBay’s chief of technologies, and Philippe Kahn, CEO and chairman of Starfish Software. This week it’s Marc Ewing, executive vice president and CTO of Red Hat.

“As a leader in information technology services, EDS is the ideal sponsor for this endeavor,” said Michael O’Donnell, CEO and president of Salon.com.

“We were looking for an Internet site that had the editorial credibility and access to reach influential business and high-technology professionals,” said Alex Richter, interactive advertising manager for EDS.
