How do companies like Airbnb go from plucky upstarts to industry icons? Join our friends from StrategyEye at their ‘Building a Billion-Dollar Startup’ networking event to find out.
StrategyEye’s ‘Building a Billion-Dollar Startup’ event will take place on 25th March at The Escalator in East London, where attendees will learn key lessons about pitching, scaling and steering a startup towards billion dollar success.
James McClure, Airbnb’s UK & Ireland General Manager and Jeremy Bedford, Vice President of EMEA at Sailthru, will deliver keynote speeches on the remarkable growth stories of their companies.
The evening will also see three Microsoft Ventures startups – art network Vastari, parking app AppyParking and open platform for financial regulation Suade — given five minutes each to pitch prospective investors.
The talks will be followed by networking, pizza and drinks.
Tom O’Meara, Head of Editorial and Analysis at StrategyEye, said: “There might seem to be a lot of tech startups with eye-watering valuations, but that doesn’t mean building a billion-dollar company is getting any easier. It’s often as much about people, timing, execution and luck as it is that initial idea.
“This will be a lively evening of insightful presentations and engaging discussions with top tech players, rounded off by networking drinks and food with 130 senior executives from leading investment, tech and advisory firms.”
