About.com picks Minishak to head Eastern sales; Gorilla Nation reps BestofMedia sites

Frank Minishak was named VP of sales for the Eastern region at About.com. Minishak was most recently VP of digital sales at Madison Square Garden. Prior to MSG he was a regional sales director at AOL where he managed a team of sales and support staff while he maintained relationships with ad agencies.

Gorilla Nation is exclusively representing the online ad inventory for the BestofMedia Group’s sites. The sites include TomsGuide.com, TomsGames.com, TheTorqueReport.com, and TomsHardware.com. While the sites are based in Canada, GN will exclusively represent the sites in the U.S. to a selected group of advertisers.

Fanscape, an LA-based emerging media marketing agency, made two new hires. Michael Francesconi, senior manager of social media, was previously a community manager at the Huffington Post. Lori Hlad, account director, is a 14-year veteran of direct response and general advertising, and previously was an interactive media consultant at Revolution Media.
