Execs & Accounts: AKQA, Facebook, Dentsu

AKQA hires for operations and creative teams; Facebook's CFO is on his way out; Dentsu gets Legg.

AKQA gains talent. Jim Rossman was named president and chief operating officer. He joins the agency from Digitas, where he was COO. He joined Digitas in 2001 to manage the New York office and served in his current role for the past five years. He previously held senior management positions at Young & Rubicam and Wunderman.

In Amsterdam Nick Bailey joined from the London office where he was creative director. Nick Strada became associate createive director in San Francisco to work on the Nike account. He joined AKQA from Glue London. Johan Vakidis was hired as creative director for AKQA Shanghai. He is charged with raising the agency’s creative capabilities and profile in China and globally, and joins from OgilvyOne, where he was national creative director, digital.

Facebook CFO to exit. Gideon Yu, CFO, is expected to leave the social networking site, reports the Wall Street Journal. Wu began at Facebook in 2007, and was previously CFO of YouTube. Facebook reportedly seeks a chief financial officer who has experience working at a public company, prompting speculation that the social network is considering an initial public offering. Before YouTube, Yu worked as treasurer at Yahoo, a publicly traded company.

Dentsu gets Legg. Vincent Legg was named COO of Dentsu America. He will oversee Dentsu America’s offices as well as the ATTIK division. Legg was most recently at Euro RSCG Worldwide, and spent several years at the Havas group of agencies.

Keane is CEO of Associated Content. Patrick Keane was named CEO of Associated Content, an online publishing platform. He was previously CMO at CBS Interactive, and spent four years at Google as head of advertising sales strategy responsible for developing and managing strategic plans and relationships. He was VP and senior analyst at Jupiter Research in the past.
