Critical Mass named Cameron Bedford SVP and general manager. Omnicom’s Critical Mass brought Bedford in to oversee the Toronto office. Previously, Bedford was vice president and general manager at Fjord Interactive Marketing + Technology, part of Cossette Communications, and cofounded the Canadian division of Organic.
Full-service branding and creative agency 20nine adds interactive. The Conshohocken, PA, based agency established 20nine Interactive. One of the first clients is Boenning & Scattergood, a local independent securities, asset management, and investment banking firm.
AOL’s Platform-A entered a strategic relationship with FreeCreditReport.com. FreeCreditReport will get access to Platform-A’s ad solutions, customized content, and integration with AOL properties.
Long time XM sales and marketing exec heads to PRN. D. Scott Karnedy left his post as SVP of sales and marketing solutions at XM Sattelite Radio, which he held since 2003, to become chief sales officer of Premier Retail Networks (PRN). Prior to XM Karnedy was an SVP and director of national sales at Infinity Broadcasting. He also served as vice president of interactive marketing at AOL Time Warner.
Karma Media Labs hired three former Fanscape executives. Lori Dicker was named EVP of digital influence marketing and communications; Lisa Jenkins joined as director of media and advertising, and Thomas Mahoney is director of social media marketing. All three joined the social media marketing and advisory agency and previously worked with the grassroots agency Fanscape.
Megan Talbott joins Hawkeye. Talbott was made director of insight, strategy, and new business development at the data intelligence agency. She has previously worked at Agency.com, Grey, Margeotes Fertitta & Weiss, and Frankfurt Balkind. Prior to Hawkeye, she was a division vice president of brand communications at Maritz.
Adroit Interactive hired two executives. The company, which has a platform that works with agencies to power dynamic ads across campaigns, has offices in New York and Boston. Warren Zenna, vice president of business development, previously served as director of business development at iCrossing. Michelle Evangelista, account director, worked before as a senior media buyer/planner and media supervisor at Carat. Evangelista previously served as a media supervisor at Mullen, an advertising and public relations firm.
Burst Media named Jim Garrity to its board of directors. Garrity was CMO of Wachovia Corp. through July 2007 when he retired. He has served as a member of the board for the Association of National Advertisers from 1995 to 2007, and served as chairman in 1998. Garrity founded the ANA’s New Technologies Committee in 1995 and chaired the committee until 2007. From 1996 to 2007 he was a member of the AdCouncil’s board.
Drive Digital Media will produce an interactive campaign for Grand-Am.The Kansas City-based marketing company will produce a digital media guide and related interactive assets for Grand-Am Road Racing Association’s five auto racing series for the 2009 season.
Pereira & O’Dell promoted two executives to associate creative director. Jason Apaliski and Robert Lambrecht were both named associate creative director at the San Francisco-based agency. The two were among Pereira & O’Dell’s first three hires.
