Laura Lang takes Digitas reins from CEO Kenny; Ogilvy adds execs in New York; Carat hires group creative director; Google names CFO

Laura Lang will succeed David Kenny as CEO of Digitas as Kenny moves on to run VivaKi, Publicis’s new umbrella organization for its digital units. Lang has been president of Digitas for many years, prior to which she led the New York and Chicago offices. Earlier she worked in strategic planning for Pfizer.

Ogilvy New York has added three senior execs, two in its consulting practice and one on the global IBM account. Robert Schwartz is executive director for the Digital Dialogue practice and Chris Halsall is senior partner, global managing director of marketing strategy. Michael Dobak joins as senior partner, worldwide executive marketing director on Ogilvy’s brand communications on behalf of IBM. Halsall will also work on IBM.

Google named a replacement for outbound CFO George Reyes. Patrick Pichette spent seven years as EVP of planning and performance management at Bell Canada.

Carat hired Ross Stewart as VP, group creative director. Most recently he was associate creative director at Avenue A/Razorfish, working on accounts such as Intel, Microsoft, Nortel, and Shutterfly.

Attik created a new marketing campaign for Scion, promoting a limited production car, the Scion xD Release Series 1.0. The integrated marketing campaign will include a custom site, banner ads, newspaper ads, and out of home elements. Scion will produce two thousand of the auto model.

Condé Nast worked with Acxiom to upgrade its databases into one master record and tie together online and offline channels. The publisher now sends communications based on an individual consumer’s preferred mode of contact.

Rosetta expanded through two partner hires. Mark Taylor, most recently of Wunderman, joins as managing partner of marketing and operations services. Kathy Calta, partner of the retail vertical, was EVP of business strategy and management at Harte-Hanks Direct Marketing’s U.S.-based business.

Wizzard Media signed a podcast advertising deal with Panasonic. Panasonic will advertise its Viera line of HDTVs across a targeted group of podcast programs on the Wizzard Media Network.
