NYT promotes Todd Haskell to business development for advertising; Modem Media opens New York office.

The New York Times’ media group has promoted Todd Haskell to VP of business development, advertising. In the newly created position, Haskell will oversee sales strategy for the flagship newspaper, the magazines and NYTimes.com. He was previously EVP of business development for newspaper advertising.

Modem Media opened a New York office to support its media services. The agency said its media capabilities have “grown four-fold in the past three years” with the addition of several new clients.

Sapient signed a deal to acquire Miami digital marketing agency Planning Group International (PGI), and named PGI CEO Gaston Legorburu to lead a new experience marketing unit. PGI brings clients like CitiGroup, Burger King and Celebrity Cruise Lines.
