LinkedIn co-founder and VP marketing Konstantin Guericke has left the company to become CEO of social communications company Jaxtr. The startup allows users to make free phone calls to reach people online via their blogs or other social network.

Search marketing firm Reprise Media named AOL vet Stephen Chiles as chief operating officer. Chiles most recently served as AOL’s executive director of marketing. At Reprise, Chiles will have oversight of the sales, client services, marketing and product development groups.

Henry Gomez, Skype’s chief marketing officer and director of country operations, has been promoted to president. His marketing responsibilities will be handled by a new centralized marketing team based in London. Former Skype president Alex Kazim will return to his pre-acquisition role at eBay, working on major strategic projects and reporting to President and CEO Meg Whitman.

Video advertising company Visible World has promoted Tara Walpert from executive vice president and general manager to president. Walpert has been with Visible World for more than a year, previously serving as an associate partner with McKinsey & Company.

Interactive promotions agency ePrize has named co-VPs of strategy. Matt Kates and Sara Kowal will jointly lead all strategy efforts including promotion, concept development, research, analysis and program development. Both Kates and Kowal joined ePrize in 2005 as senior directors of strategic services.

Cleveland-based interactive agency Optiem has added Christopher Miller, Michelle Bueno, and Tessa Fraser to its staff. Miller joins Optiem as a senior developer, previously holding a similar role at Chad Allan Consulting. Bueno joins Optiem as a copywriter from sister agency Adcom Communications, where she has worked for two years. Fraser joins Optiem as its new project manager for search marketing, previously serving as an assistant account executive at Brokaw.

Virgin Mobile USA has named Lamont Swittenberg to the new position of VP for advertising, promotion and planning. Swittenberg will lead the development of the company’s advertising efforts, reporting to VP of brand and integrated marketing Bob Stohrer. He was previously director of promotions at Virgin Mobile USA. Prior to joining Virgin Mobile, Swittenberg spent 10 years in various youth consumer products marketing roles, including ones at HP and Coca-Cola.

Avenue A/Razorfish recently completed a Web site redesign and re-launch for XM Satellite Radio. The new site adds more exploration and discovery capabilities, showcasing XM’s lineup of 170 channels.

E-mail marketing service provider Blue Sky Factory recently won three new clients: Improv Comedy Clubs/e-Comic Branding, TIG Global and The International Trademark Association. All three companies will deploy and manage e-mail communications programs through Blue Sky’s Publicaster platform.
