Crispin debuts viral for Virgin; Feedster gets an engineering VP; and PlanetOut hires a COO.

Crispin Porter + Bogusky created a holiday viral campaign for Virgin Atlantic. Visitors to a microsite can enter their name and phone number, and receive an automated voice call from Sir Richard Branson, chairman of the Virgin group of companies.

Feedster hired Brent Whitney as VP of engineering. He replaces Scott Johnson, co-founder and CTO, who departed the company recently. Whitney joins from LesConcierges, where he was CTO and a co-founder.

PlanetOut promoted EVP and CFO Jeff Soukup to chief operating officer, a newly created post. Soukup joined in 2000 and has overseen several acquisitions at the company, plus an IPO.

Direct Response Technologies launched an integrated pay-per-call solution using infrastructure from VoiceStar. The service, dubbed CallTrack, will be integrated with the company’s ad serving and affiliate management platform.

Dax Marketing + Creative will develop online creative elements for the Gulf Coast Regional Center of Commercialization and Innovation. The work will be paid for by the Texas Emerging Technology Fund.
