Belo Interactive head departs; InksPress.com buys a business blogger on eBay; Machrotech hires a director of interactive marketing.

Eric Christensen will step down as VP and general manager of interactive for Belo Corp at year’s end. The media conglomerate, which owns TV and cable channels plus daily papers, promoted VP of Sales Wes Jackson to replace him. Jackson was founder and partner of Lexweb.com, a Lexington, Ky.-based online directory, movie and apartment guide. He’s been with Belo since 2000.

The company didn’t disclose why Christensen was leaving or whether he would be joining another firm.

Dex Media named Maggie Le Beau to lead its marketing efforts. The company publishes print and online directories.

InksPress.com won blogger Jeremy Wright in an eBay auction. Following the custom printing company’s bid of $3,350, the entrepreneur and veteran writer will blog for three months on its behalf. Wright is the author of business and tech blog Ensight.

“The interest in this auction, and the nearly 10 private deals I’m looking at signing show that there is a market for blog consulting and outsourced blogging,” he wrote on Ensight.

Software developer Machrotech hired Paul Denhup as director of interactive marketing. Denhup was manager of SEO for IPG’s Wahlstrom Interactive and director of search at Modem Media/Digitas. He has worked on Albertsons, Kraft Foods, Nestle Waters, Hilton Hotels and other large brands.

The DMA added e-Dialog’s director of privacy and ISP relations to its ethics policy committee. Rick Buck joins Bigfoot Interactive CEO Al DiGuido, another digital media exec who was named to the committee last week. The appointments suggest the DMA is making more room for interactive at the table.
