MySpace promotes Kapur to COO; MEC Interaction promotes three to managing partner; Coca-Cola hands off social media management.
MySpace named Amit Kapur chief operating officer. The social network promoted Kapur from vice president of business development.
MEC Interaction promoted three execs, and hired five more. The agency promoted Carrie Frolich, Patrick Cartmel and Jeanne Clark from senior partner to managing partner. It also hired Joe Tartaglia as senior partner; Kevin Hartbanger as partner, group planning director; Alice Dure as associate media director; Howard Sperling as associate director; and Melissa Yanik as associate media director.
The Coca-Cola Company tasked LiveWorld with moderating its social networking and user content programs. The social marketing agency will manage the soft drink brand’s social networking systems.
WebTrends hired four execs. The Web analytics and online marketing firm named Kathleen Brush chief marketing officer, Bruce Kenny vice president of engineering, Kory Kimball vice president of client services, and Alex Yoder managing director of North American sales.
Hitwise named Heather Dougherty director of research. The online analysis service hired Dougherty from Nielsen Online, where she was a senior retail analyst.
Linkstorm hired Rob Silvershein as regional vice president, western sales. Prior to joining the advertising technology company, Silvershein headed sales efforts for Reactrix Systems.
ABCSearch tapped Digital Element for ad targeting. The ad network will use Digital Element’s IP Intelligence system.
Reactrix hired two vice presidents. The interactive media company named Neal Bangerter vice president of product management and Chris Betts vice president of corporate development.
Burst Media hired Sean Keaveny as managing director of Burst AdConductor. Keaveny will manage the company’s hosted ad management platform, and was previously vice president of operations at Reed Business Interactive Division.
Vibrant Media hired Denise Garcia as senior vice president, corporate strategy and research. The advertising network hired Garcia from a vice president position at AG Edwards.
Copa Airlines name Nobox Marketing Group as its interactive agency of record.
Pizza Hut tasked MyClick Media Limited with creating its “Snap for Rewards” campaign. The promotion asks customers to use cell phones to take snapshots of MyClick enabled images printed on Pizza Hut promotional materials for prizes and discounts.
