Execs & Accounts for January 13, 2006

Gannett appoints digital head; Odeo hires a VP of product and marketing; Fallon hires Tierney away from CPB; and R/GA names a client services director to service Nokia.

Gannett has formed a digital division and named Jack Williams, a 10-year veteran of the media company, to run the show. Williams has been SVP of diversified business and development of the newspaper division since 2003, overseeing Internet operations.

Podcasting enabler Odeo hired Tim Roberts as VP of product and marketing. Roberts was most recently a senior director at Yahoo, with oversight of small business tools, hosting, e-commerce and Yahoo Widgets.

Fallon hired Writer/Group Head Brian Tierney away from Crispin Porter + Bogusky. At CPB he did work for Burger King, MINI, Molson Canadian and the American Legacy Foundation.

R/GA hired Spencer McHugh as director of client services in its London office, where he’ll work on the global Nokia account. McHugh was most recently with U.K. mobile company Orange.

Zedo added 162 ad serving customers in the past year. Some of the more recent wins include Travelot, GoFish, Genads LLC and GoApply.
