PointRoll promotes two; Double Fusion makes a commitment to recruiting, while rival IGA gets a multi-title account.
PointRoll promoted two execs. Gian Lombardi will be VP of sales for North America. He was previously in charge of sales for the Eastern region. Catherine Spurway, previously director of marketing, was promoted to VP of marketing.
IGA Worldwide inked a deal with online game site Acclaim Games to provide advertising in six massively multiplayer online games. Acclaim previously operated on Massive‘s network. The new account follows the addition of Valve’s “Counter Strike” to IGA’s network.
Research firm IDC hired Karsten Weide as director of digital media and entertainment research. He will work on the firm’s digital marketplace and new media research program. Weide had previously headed the U.S. affiliate of European market research firm MediaAnalyzer.
In-game ad network Double Fusion named Richard Willoughby as VP of human resources. Willoughby will help staff up senior and executive ranks as the firm continues to expand. He was VP of human resources at publisher IDG.
The Active Marketing Group hired three executives. Former Reebok International VP of field sales apparel Steve Hagen was named VP of business development. Ian Sinclair has the title director of online media sales. He was Eastern regional sales director for Future Media. Rich Abend took the post of director of business development. He was previously a partner at The Squires Sports Group.
Video services company SightSpeed appointed Peter Hanley to its board of advisors. Hanley’s career includes senior executive positions at Arnold Communications, Young & Rubicam, and J. Walter Thompson.
Pacific Newspaper Group signed on with AdStar to provide Web-based classified ad transaction services. Pacific Newspaper publishes the Vancouver Sun and the Province. AdStar will service the print and online classified offerings of both publications.
