Execs & Accounts for June 14, 2006

StarLink Worldwide promoted Shelby Saville to SVP. Saville is the director of StarLink IP, StarLink’s digital unit. She’s led online strategy for clients like Caterpillar, E*TRADE Financial, NBC Universal and Suzuki.

Fallon hired Swedish creative team Calle and Pelle Sjönell, who are brothers, as creative directors. Pelle was CEO and creative director of Swedish agency KING for five years. Calle was creative director at Stockholm-based interactive agency Starring.

E-mail provider Silverpop made several hires in its product development group. The company promoted VP of engineering Chris Curtin to CTO, hired Garrett Suhm to replace him, and recruited Yong Di to run its database management efforts. Additionally, Kevin Ahrens joins as manager of production operations.

WhenU hired Joanna Bolles as VP of corporate marketing. She joins from direct marketing and interactive firm V12 Group.

BBC Worldwide promoted Simon Danker to director of digital media. Danker joined BBC Worldwide six years ago. He was most recently director of U.K. and Ireland TV within the Beeb’s global TV sales division.

PBS hired John Boland as chief content officer, a new position. Boland will oversee delivery of PBS content to all platforms, including online on demand and other digital platforms. Boland is EVP and chief content officer at KQED Public Broadcasting, which has had special success with cross-platform initiatives.

Online ad agency Performance Bridge named Dean Harris to its advisory board. Harris is chief marketing officer for Kayak.com.

Think Partnership board member Dominic Ragosta stepped down. The resignation is effective immediately.

Interactive marketing firm Spunlogic promoted Casey Russell to emerging technologies specialist. The role has oversight of blogs, RSS, podcasting, wireless and video.

Mobile advertising play Rhythm NewMedia named Bob Kuperman to its board. He’s held top spots at agencies including Doyle Dane Bernbach, TBWA Worldwide and Chiat/Day’s Los Angeles office.

Accipiter signed Fisher Communications as an ad trafficking customer. The client is a Seattle-based communications and media company.

ARA Content/Adfusion hired Scott Severson as president. He was previously the Internet business director for North American Membership Group.

Ernie Mosteller is leaving Tangelo Ideas, which he founded, to become VP and creative director of Blattner Brunner’s Washington, DC office. Tangelo Ideas will be run by Mosteller’s partner Dave Hoyt.

Telecharge.com tapped Situation Marketing to promote both its online service in general, and upcoming Broadway musical “Fame Becomes Me.” Using Rovion’s inPerson video technology, headliner Martin Short appears on the Telecharge site to talk up Broadway shows in general, and his own new play in particular.
