Battelle's FM hires a tech head; Studiocomm gets Arc's Villarreal; Klipmart names a research director.

John Battelle’s FM Publishing hired Andre Torrez to lead technology development. Torrez has been director of technology at Ignited Minds.

Interactive agency Studiocom hired Maurizio Villarreal as creative director. Villarreal founded his own design firm, Cero Studio, after heading creative for Arc Worldwide. His accounts have included P&G, General Mills, Disney and HBO.

Online video player Klipmart hired Aimee Pamintuan as research director. Pamintuan was client services director at SEM firm Reprise Media and director of analysis for Monster Worldwide’s directional marketing interactive division. She’ll head a new research and analysis unit at Klipmart.

Geary Interactive built a site for Donald Trump’s International Hotel and Tower in Vegas. The agency recently opened an office there.

20th Century Fox named 10’Minutos Interactive as its digital agency for Latin America. The firm is based in Brazil.

The Houston Chronicle tapped adInterax to enable rich media advertising on its site. AdInterax offers floating ads, video ads, expandable banners and data capture elements.

AlmondNet retained legal/privacy consultant Alan Chapell of Chapell & Associates. Chapell will work with the behavioral targeting company to “promote an all-inclusive strategy to protect consumer privacy” on its network, which serves ads matched to recent search terms entered by a user.

Pipeline Interactive launched a site to introduce Casio’s Oceanus watch line. The client’s Web presence features a rich media demo of the watch’s solar battery, tachymeter functions and atomic clock synchronization.
